Midnight Movie!!

So in the wonderful location of Santa Cruz, California we have a thing or actually a tradition called Midnight Movies! At the Del Amr theater on Pacific Avenue downtown every friday and saturday night they show older movies, its awesome. We have movies like "Jurassic Park", "The Goonies", "Some Like It Hot", just to name a few. Myself, my girlfriend Elyssa, and my friend Bobby have made this a regular thing to attend. Our friends Katie, Ryan, and James often come as well but not as dedicated. Well this last week was the first midnight movie i have seen this season so far (They take summer off)! This week was "The Shining" Awesome movie, kinda slow beginning but really good. It was me, Bobby, Elyssa, Katie, and Ryan. It was good we didnt get out till about 2:45AM so we were all tired. Everyone was dozing off except for me and ryan i believe, but we caught Bobby snoozing a little bit during the movie and was able to get a picture of it for you all to enjoy...so please enjoy!!

Senior Year!!

Senior Year in College!!! Exciting, tiring, and frustrating. Exciting news i start my credentialing application to become a credentialed pastor of the Assemblies of God this next week, which is awesome, also awesome i will be done with school in 9 months. This month also marked me and Elyssa's one year together, which was amazing check out my Facebook for pictures of it. Tiring news 19 Units at Bethany University = HELL. Classes everyday from 8-2, than work almost every night so very tiring. Frustrating news...What am i gonna do when i graduate? Who knows all i can do is trust God that he will open doors and provide for me and guide me down the path he wants for my life. So one month into my senior year it's going awesome loving it, making new friends, getting closer to God, and closer to becoming a Minister, and one day closer to starting life outside of school.

Scary Movies...Not?

Nic (Poontar) Bartsch. Senior at Bethany University, one of my best friends. Mr. Bartsch and I have this tradition where we rent "scary" movies, that have no potential of being good or in fact descent movies at all. We started this tradition i would say a year, or year in a half ago. I have always loved scary movies, and i have found out that i love stupid, not scary horror movies even better. Just a brief history of our "scary" movies thus far. The first movie we ever watched was "The Hollow". Not the Johnny Depp one, the one starring Nick Carter, ya that's right the Backstreet Boy, and yes it was completely horrible, at one point you even see the zipper and Velcro on the back of the headless horseman's costume...it was horrible. Last night we watched a movie called "Black Sheep", and no not the one with Chris Farley, which is an awesome movie by the way. This is a new Zealand film about a Sheep Fetus that attacks people, and once bitten by the evil fetus you turn into a sheep and attack people, except you turn into a ginormous man sized sheep that walks on two feet, easily the worst movie we have seen yet. The movie even has a scene where the sheep football tackle a man, and yes even drive a vehicle...so retarded. These movie nights me and Mr. Bartsch have had this last year or so have been awesome. My question to the Blogging world or anyone reading this would be what is the stupidest scary movie you have ever seen? Second have you seen "The Hollow" or "Black sheep", not the good ones, the stupid "scary" one, and what did you think? Let me know!

IKEA: Heaven or HELL?

So I'm looking at buying some things for my place..a coffee table, a bookcase, some blinds, i found some nice ones that i like alot...the only problem is that they are located at IKEA. FLASHBACK a couple months ago: Me and my buddy Ed make a trip to IKEA to pick up some furniture for the youth room at our church, three story store tons of people, we get lost, we cant find the right stuff, its hell, not gonna lie. From that day on I vowed to myself to never return. FLASH-FORWARD to now: I'm trying to keep my vow of never returning to IKEA, but shipping for my stuff is like $100, when there is an IKEA 30 min away. I'm gonna stay strong, but we will see what happens. The Point of this post is that you either love or hate IKEA, I hate it along with Ed, my girlfriend and Ed's wife Julie love it, you either hate it or love it...we should all Hate it though!

One80 Question Night!!

I have been the Interim Youth Pastor here at CLC for about 8 months now, and one things we do every couple months or so we like to call the question Night. Every week we have a vans shoe box we dressed up and labeled "Question Box". Every week students at anytime an write any question they want and put it in the box. It was an idea i got from my Youth Pastor Dan Laird in Portola California. It is a really fun night where everyone just brings a ton of food and we chow down and talk about serious, fun, random questions students have.

Some Example Questions:

"How come i have to Pay a full adult movie ticket price, but cannot see "R" rated Movie?"

"Why did Elijah Go Up to Heaven in a chariot of fire and not something more comfortable?"

"Can Josh (Me) do 100 Push ups?"-Answer-Not a chance

"Why is repenting our sins to God so important, Why cant we just forget about them and move on?

"Best Place to Eat in Santa Cruz'

"Why is James So sexy"-A Student we have, obvious he wrote it himself

We have alot more questions they submitted those are just a few. its gonna be an awesome Night

Family Weekend in Reedley California

The many stresses of life are easily put aside with a simple three hour drive to Reedley, California. Leaving Saturday with Elyssa as my Co-Pilot we spent three days with my family, and extended family. It was awesome seeing the family, which does not happen very often with them traveling everywhere getting support for their call to missions work in Romania. Awesome trip aside from some bee attacks and stings. Spent literally days in the pool and even made it to the Zoo, because Elyssa loves animals. An Awesome opportunity to forget about things for a bit and have some fun, and relax with the family. Favorite memory of the entire weekend. Seeing my 77 year old Grandma yell at a waitress for "Bringing the tea from the bottom of the KEG" that's the Robertson Family for you!

Back from Royal Family Kids Camp..awesome experience..loved it, but so tired. its tough being energetic and fun for the kids 18 hours a day than barely sleep at night. So this weekend I'm falling off the face of the planet and hibernating...so peace out everyone!

Guitar Hero?

Anyone out there play guitar hero...? I'm fairly new to this new world of guitar hero. new...and an addict. Moving into a my new house with three awesome roommates in Scotts Valley I enter the house with my boxes to find a mini guitar. I play it and of course I'm horrible, but not the point. The point is i have never been much of a video "gamer" as it was called when i was growing up, but i found a game i enjoy.. if you have not tried it before try it...not as good as Wii tennis of course, but good none the less.

Easter Weekend!!

Easter Weekend....long weekend ahead of me, gotta Mc tomorrows Egg Drop which will be sweet than set up for Sunday morning, Sunday morning 7Am Pancake breakfast, than Easter service...let it begin. Also a random comment the midnight movie is Dr. Strangelove a movie I have never heard of...I'm just waiting for Jurassic Park!!!

The thought of even blogging sickens me..it seems like a complete waste of time to me, and yet here I am. I would first off like to give credit were it is due. I would like to thank the CLC church staff for always talking about blogging and telling me to get one, without you i would not be here right now, especially the one and only Bobby. So If I am so against Blogging why did i create an account and begin blogging? That is a very good question....the answer is Facebook is just getting repetitive and blog is something new that i thought i might try. So Here I am blogging in my church office, just getting ready for Youth Group Tonight....Let the blogging extravaganza begin!!!
